When the Cochrane Ranche Amateur Players announce a new adaptation of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, stage manager Sam has her hands full with a colourful array of community theatre misfits: a clueless director, an egotistical writer/choreographer/leading lady, a scorned diva, an overlooked veteran, and the town’s local druggie. But when Sam begins to fall for the leading man, things really start to get complicated.

About the Show

For Anton, studying music at McGill was his ticket off the farm and the doorway to a larger world. Stuck at school over the holidays, he wants to make Christmas special for Donna, the girl in the practice room next to his, who inspires him with her music. Anton sets to work making creative presents that charm Donna as they count down the twelve days to Christmas. But when his rival, Robert, invites Donna to spend Christmas with him at his family’s Toronto mansion, Anton needs to decide how far he’s willing to go to give her the perfect gift.

About the Show

This autobiographical musical by Jonathan Larson, the Pulitzer Prize- and Tony Award-winning composer of Rent, is the story of a composer and the sacrifices that he made to achieve his big break in theatre. Containing fourteen songs, ten characters, three actors and a band, Tick, Tick... Boom! takes you on the playwright/composer's journey that led to a Broadway blockbuster.

We showcase their talents, hear stories about their struggles and triumphs, and share a lot of really great Canadian music, including some original tunes written by members of the cast. It’s a fusion of cabaret and revue that invites you to join a house party with a talented group of friends. It’s 1969 and the boys from Saint Mark’s and the girls from Saint Anne’s come together for the first time to present “Cyrano de Bergerac”. Jeremy is cast in the lead and soon has to navigate an uncomfortable love triangle between him, his best friend and the girl playing Roxanne. Passions rise and jealousies flare as life imitates art while everyone gets more of an education that they bargained for. Nominated for five Betty Mitchell Awards and winner of five awards at the New York Musical Festival including the Theatre for the American Musical Prize!

Two sisters set out to serve their country with the Canadian forces and encounter challenges that threaten to tear their bond apart. Suggested by the real-life experiences of Sandra Perron, Canada’s first female infantry officer, Brave Girl offers no easy answers but serves as a tribute to all who serve. The world premiere musical was produced in association with Lunchbox Theatre.

"Touch Me: Songs for a (dis)Connected Age" is a one-act musical revue featuring all-new songs composed by writers from across Canada. Funny, tuneful and sometimes poignant, "Touch Me" is bound to get you thinking about the connections in your life. The show won three Calgary Critics Awards including Best Production of a Musical and won the Betty Mitchell Award for Outstanding Musical Direction.

Not just stories of soldiers but also war brides, refugees, and the families at home who pray for their loved ones’ safe return. Featuring immersive projections that take you inside the story, every letter, each photo, and every word is someone’s truth.
