THE SHOWS

Little Mermaid is a bold new musical adaptation of the beloved Hans Christian Andersen tale. Featuring a book by acclaimed playwrights Jaime del Mundo and Luna Griño-Inocian, with music by Broadway performer Lito Villareal, this reimagined production plunges audiences into a world of wonder, magic, and sacrifice beneath the sea..

A Concrete Jungle Book tells the story of Michael, a foster kid with a vivid imagination. Whenever the world gets too much for him, he retreats into the amazing world inside his head, and the people in his life become the characters from his favorite story – The Jungle Book. But, just like the wolf-boy Mowgli, Michael is pulled between two worlds and longs to find a place where he belongs.

Dream follows Eddie, a young teenage boy who was orphaned at an early age, who finds himself scamming on the city streets before being placed in the care of an elderly widow in a rural farming community. Through a dramatic change of scenery and unfamiliar acts of kindness, he discovers purpose, belonging and the love of his life. The songs are unforgettable. The story, true.

Three New Musicals with Three Great Companies!

This coming season, Forte is thrilled to partner with FlipSide, StoryBook and Alberta Theatre Projects to bring you the Canadian Premiere of a classic tale, the World Premiere of a story re-imagined for modern audiences and a heart-warming true story of love and redemption.
